Detailed Itinerary
Day 1
Transfer From Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, depart for Masai Mara National Reserve, driving through Kenya’s scenic countryside, the journey takes approximately 4–5 hours.
Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and enjoy lunch while overlooking the surrounding wilderness.
In the afternoon, visit a traditional Maasai village, where you’ll gain insight into the Maasai way of life, cultural traditions, livestock keeping, and colorful dances passed down through generations.
Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and relaxation
Day 2
Game Drive in Masai Mara National Reserve
Spend the entire day exploring the vast open plains of the Masai Mara on a game drive. The reserve is home to an exceptional concentration of wildlife including lions, elephants, leopards, cheetahs, buffaloes, giraffes, and large herds of antelope.
You will also visit the Mara River, famous for dramatic wildebeest crossings during the Great Migration season. Picnic lunch will be enjoyed inside the park.
Exit the reserve by early evening and return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3
Lake Nakuru National Park Game Drive
After breakfast, drive approximately 3–4 hours to Lake Nakuru National Park, one of Kenya’s most scenic parks. The park is renowned for its alkaline lake, birdlife, and successful rhino conservation program.
Enjoy an afternoon game drive where you may encounter black and white rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, and large flocks of flamingos and pelicans along the shoreline.
Day 4
Morning Game Drive & Transfer to Kisumu City
Begin the day with an early morning game drive, offering excellent chances to spot predators and other wildlife before they retreat from the heat.
After exiting the park, drive 4–5 hours to Kisumu City, located on the shores of Lake Victoria. Enjoy a relaxed evening overlooking Africa’s largest lake.
Day 5
Transfer to Jinja – Source of the Nile (Uganda)
After breakfast, depart for Jinja, Uganda, crossing the Kenya–Uganda border at Busia. The journey takes approximately 5–6 hours including border formalities.
Upon arrival, enjoy a scenic boat cruise to the Source of the Nile, where the world’s longest river begins its journey northwards. The experience offers beautiful views and a calm introduction to Uganda.
Day 6
Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park & Night Game Drive
Depart Jinja and travel north to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and most diverse protected area. The drive takes about 7–8 hours.
Upon arrival, visit the Top of Murchison Falls, where the Nile squeezes through a narrow 7-meter gorge before plunging dramatically into the river below.
After dinner, enjoy a guided night game drive, offering opportunities to spot nocturnal wildlife such as lions, hyenas, genets, and bush babies.
Day 7
Game Drive & Boat Safari to the Bottom of the Falls
Begin the day with a morning game drive across the northern plains of Murchison Falls National Park, known for elephants, giraffes, lions, hartebeest, and buffaloes.
Later, enjoy a boat safari along the Victoria Nile to the base of the falls, passing schools of hippos, crocodiles, and numerous waterbirds.
In the afternoon, drive approximately 2 hours to Hoima City for the night.
Day 8
Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Depart Hoima and travel to Kibale Forest National Park, one of Africa’s best destinations for primate tracking. The drive takes about 5-6 hours through scenic countryside and tea plantations.
Arrive in the afternoon and relax at your lodge surrounded by lush tropical forest.
Day 9
Chimpanzee Tracking & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After an early breakfast, head into Kibale Forest for a guided chimpanzee tracking experience lasting 4–5 hours. Observe these intelligent primates as they feed, socialize, and move through the forest canopy.
After lunch, drive 2–3 hours to Queen Elizabeth National Park, stopping at the Equator Monument for photos.
In the late afternoon, enjoy a game drive in the Kasenyi Plains, an excellent area for lion sightings.
Day 10
Morning Game Drive & Transfer to Ishasha Sector
Start the day with an early morning game drive in Kasenyi Plains before returning to the lodge for refreshments.
Later, travel 2–3 hours to the Ishasha Sector, famous for its unique tree-climbing lions. Enjoy an evening game drive across the open savannahs and fig-tree-dotted plains.
Day 11
Track Tree-Climbing Lions & Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Begin with a morning game drive in Ishasha to search for lions resting in fig trees and other wildlife.
After lunch en route, continue your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, arriving in the evening surrounded by misty highland scenery.
Day 12
Gorilla Trekking & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park (Rwanda)
Early in the morning, begin your unforgettable gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Forest. Trek durations vary between 2–6 hours depending on gorilla movements.
After spending time observing these gentle giants, transfer across the border into Rwanda and drive to Volcanoes National Park.
Day 13
Golden Monkey Tracking & Transfer to Lake Kivu
Set out for golden monkey tracking in the bamboo forests of the Virunga Mountains. This energetic and entertaining trek usually lasts 3–5 hours.
Later, drive to Lake Kivu in Gisenyi and unwind along the peaceful lakeshore with beautiful sunset views.
Day 14
Transfer to Kigali City Tour & Transfer to the Airport For Departure
After breakfast, transfer to Kigali City. Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial for a meaningful insight into Rwanda’s history and resilience.
Proceed to Kigali International Airport for your onward international departure.
